Two young tenors receive scholarships from the GC Rieber Foundations
On Saturday 2 July tenors Ian Bjørsvik (right) and Markus Bjørlykke were each awarded a scholarship from The GC Rieber Foundations. The pair will be using the scholarship to develop their talents in partnership with the Bergen National Opera and The GC Rieber Foundations.
Ian is 20 years of age, from Askøy, and was accepted onto the Grieg Academy’s young talent programme in 2019. Han holder på med bachelor ved det Kongelig Danske Musikkonservatorium i København.He is currently studying for a bachelor’s degree at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen.
Markus is 28 and from Hareid. He is doing a master’s in opera at the National Academy of the Arts in Oslo.
Both are delighted to have been awarded a scholarship, and we are looking forward to following them in their future careers!
